The History

Churchkhela is a Georgian traditional candle-shaped candy. The main ingredients are tatara and flour. Nuts threaded onto a string are dipped in thickened grape juice and dried in the shape of a candle. The traditional technology of Churchkhela in the Kakheti region was inscribed on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Georgia. Churchkhela is a snack for in-between and is also served as a dessert during the New Year and Christmas celebrations. The product is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Чурчхела является традиционной грузинской сладостью, в состав которой входит виноградный сок, орехи и пшеничная мука. Готовят её из нанизанных на нить орехов, в загущённом мукой, виноградном соке. Традиционная технология приготовления Кахетинской Чурчхелы внесена в список культурного наследия Грузии. В основном Чурчхелу употребляют как полезный и питательный перекус, а также она является обязательным угощением рождественского и новогоднего грузинского стола. Продукт подходит для вегетарианцев и веганов.
